About Ally - Scottish Wedding DJ of the Year 2025

For almost 15 years, I worked in the licensed trade as a Director of Operations, responsible for transforming bars, function suites and entertainment venues into thriving, profitable businesses.

My portfolio covered 23 licensed Bar venues across the North East of Scotland, to add to these, the portfolio also included nine function suites and two nightclubs.

Throughout that journey, I realised that too many venues offered exactly the same experience.

That inspired a genuine passion for creating events that stood out.

I became obsessed with the finer details, exceptional entertainment and making every guest feel valued. My goal was always to turn venues into the heart of their communities…warm, welcoming places where people created lasting memories.

Apart from dealing with daily management of managers, Entertainment was at the centre of everything I did. From sourcing and booking live bands, DJs and tribute acts to organising karaoke nights, family fun days, themed events and football trips, I learned exactly what makes a successful celebration.

Above all else, I discovered that people remember how an event made them feel.
That experience has shaped everything I do today as DJ Ally Bongo. I don’t just turn up and play music, I create unforgettable experiences.

Every wedding and celebration is planned with the same attention to detail, energy and commitment that helped build my reputation in the hospitality industry.

Six years on, that dedication has been recognised with 11 major wedding industry awards. Those awards aren’t about collecting trophies; they’re the result of relentless hard work, consistently exceeding expectations, and earning the trust of hundreds of couples who have chosen me to be part of one of the biggest days of their lives.
